Question

I have an '85 Jeep Cherokee that won't start... *sometimes*. I had it towed once and they (the shop) said it was the relay that's right next to the battery. So, I replaced that. But it still happens. It's usually when it's been driven and hot. My assumption is that the relay is overheating, but why? And what needs to be done to fix it? Kevin

Depending on the engine size of your Jeep Cherokee, there may be several relays that could cause an intermitent no-start. If you would like more information, please write us back with your engine size. There are items such as a crankshaft position sensor that can cause a similar complaint.
