QuestionI have a 1990 Ford Ranger with a 4.0 liter engine - 85,000 on the odometer, but Ford put in a short block at 57,000. I have no oil pressure after the truck warms up. I have already replaced the oil pressure sending switch and installed a new oil pump. Still no oil pressure at idle and the service station has no clue as to their next move. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Mary, Roseburg OR |
ReplyYou did not mention having a manual oil pressure test and gauge circuit test as these tests would isolate either a gauge inaccuracy or an internal engine problem. Internal engine problems such as excess bearing clearance can cause low engine oil pressure.Angelo Silverado Auto Service |
