Question I have a 1985 Chevy Astro mini-van with 4.3L-V6 engine. What's correct ignition timing? What's the correct dwell?

Reply Dwell is not adjustable on a 1985 Chevrolet Astrovan. Are you referring to the mixture control solenoid dwell? California and high altitude ignition timing are 4 degrees before top dead center. Federal is 0 degrees before top dead center. This should be checked at 600 rpm on models with manual transmissions and 500 rpm on those with automatics. Angelo Silverado Auto Service
