Question

I have a old 1977 Ford Ranger V8 400 cu in motor. When I put the engine under a small load such as going up a steep hill the engine backfires and stalls. Is this cause by a faulty EGR valve?

Your vehicle requires a computer engine analysis. An EGR valve is a potential cause of this problem, however, you cannot make this determination without performing a series of diagnostic tests.
