Question

My car is not a GM product but maybe you can still help. I have a 1986 Lincoln and it runs good except when you hold the accelerator steady at around 35-45 mph it starts jerking really bad. Could you please help me!

I suggest performing preliminary inspections such as a scope of the secondary ignition system. However, it sounds as if you are describing a defective throttle position sensor. This component can be tested by any competent repair facility. I would start with a full diagnostic check, though.
