Question Howdy, I have a 1987 Pontiac Grand Am, 5 speed 2.5L engine. Engine won't turn over. Battery seems good (lights in and out are bright) jumpered around the saftey switch at the clutch peddal with no success. Any thougths on this are appreciated. Thanks, George

Reply Please check for voltage at the solenoid feed wires both from the battery and the ignition/clutch safety switch circuits. Both should have 12 volts with the key in the crank position. If your voltage readings are correct and you have a good ground at the starter, and the engine is not seized, you have a defective starter or solenoid. Angelo Silverado Auto Service
