Question

i have a 1990 ford bronco II with 119,000 @ around 108,000 i started to get a viberation from the rear end at around 55 - 60 mph. it aslo would make a rough sound in 1st and 2nd gear when under a load. my mechanic whom i have done business with for the past 15 yrs. said i need thepinion bearing and a new compresion seal ??? instaled. he charged me about $125.00. when i got the truck it drove and the vibration was for the most part gone. i then drove the truck about 2 week 600 - 700 miles and the sound and vibration has came back. i took it back to Bill's off road and he told me that the nut had lossend up. he retitend it. trouble is i find that the truck is no better off now than when i first took it to bill. what can i do its a FORD! thank you david murphysboro, il

I would suggest you take your vehicle back to your mechanic and express your concerns. He does have some responsibility as the pinion nut loosened up after he had worked on it and it is conceivable damage to the rear end and/or bearings resulted.
